Ready To Be The Go-To Expert In Your Field?

Every January, coaches, consultants, and leaders start doing what we’ve all been taught to do:

Set bigger goals.

Map out new strategies.

Build the plan to meet those new goals.

And while all of that is important, most people skip the most essential step, and the one that actually determines whether any of those goals will feel sustainable or meaningful.

Before you map out what your business will look like in 2026, ask yourself one key question:

Is the business you’re building still aligned with the way you want to work?

When Growth Outpaces Alignment

Recently, I coached a client who found herself at a crossroads with that exact question.

Her business had scaled fast. She’d added new offers, hired support, and expanded her reach.

On paper, everything looked successful. Yet underneath, it was chaos.

She was doing too much of the work herself again instead of delegating. Her systems weren’t keeping up with the new demand. Her team wasn’t fully aligned. And the vision that once felt exciting now felt cluttered.

She told me, “I built what I thought I needed. Now it doesn’t fit anymore.”

If you relate to this feeling, it’s OK. It’s more common than most leaders admit, and can actually provide a fantastic opportunity to realign.

So We Pressed Pause

Instead of jumping straight into planning out her 2026, we stepped back.

We looked at what the business truly needed now. Not six months ago, not during the last growth sprint, today.

We reviewed:

  • Her budget
  • Her energy
  • Her team’s capacity
  • Her responsibilities
  • The work she actually wants to be doing in 2026

And what emerged wasn’t panic or pressure.

It was clarity.

Clarity that slowing down wasn’t a setback, it was a strategy.

Clarity that she didn’t need more tools or people, she just needed the right structure.

Clarity that leadership isn’t doing everything and hoping something sticks, it’s picking just a few focus areas and saying no to the rest.

As You Plan for 2026, Don’t Skip This Step

Before you create your vision board or map your Q1 marketing plan, ask yourself:

Is my business built for the season I’m actually in?

Because here’s the truth. You may not need a bigger offer, or another funnel, or to post as much as possible on social media.

You may simply need alignment.

Alignment between:

  • What you say you want and what your business is currently set up to support.
  • Your pace and your capacity.
  • Your role and your vision.
  • Your values and your visibility.

This is the work that actually makes next-year planning meaningful.

Growth Isn’t Always About Doing More

It’s about building better systems, setting boundaries, protecting your energy and becoming clear on what you want your work and life to look like.

So, if you’re heading into planning season feeling stretched, scattered, or out of sync, don’t panic.  You’re not falling behind. You’re simply being invited to realign before you rebuild. And that’s not a detour, that’s the work.

And, if you want support realigning before you rebuild in 2026…

This is exactly the work we do with our clients.

If you’re heading into 2026 feeling stretched, overextended, or unsure whether your business still reflects the way you want to work, let’s talk.

We can walk through your goals, your capacity, and your structure, and help you create a plan that actually fits the season you’re in.
