The Challenges

What challenges did Page want Red Cape to address?

Page initially came to Red Cape because she wanted help with financial systems and marketing infrastructure. She also wanted visioning and strategy for her business.

Why did Page face this challenge?

After 10 years of completely operating her business by herself, Page was burning out. Although she had a high volume of clients and was doing a lot of work, she was so focused on her work that she couldn’t do the infrastructure building or the marketing. Her marketing consisted of word of mouth. “I’m not knowledgeable about marketing and so I would do nothing because I didn’t want to do the wrong thing,” Page explains.

What initial solutions or marketing companies did Page try prior to Red Cape?

Page did not try other solutions other than trying to do it all herself before working with Red Cape.

The Solutions

Why did Page choose Red Cape?

A colleague and friend Page trusted recommended Red Cape. But the initial meeting with Tiffany clinched it. “Tiffany established trust with me very quickly. She’s relational. I didn’t have anything else to go off of, but it was like ‘I have to trust this person!’”

How did Red Cape help Page solve this challenge?

The first thing Red Cape did was get systems in place and work on the financial piece. “I was really uninvolved in my finances because it’s intimidating to me, and I don’t like money. If I can pay my bills, all is fine, and I don’t want to think about it. Tiffany has really helped me realize that I do need to think about them and has made it less daunting and scary to do so,” Page says.

The second solution that Page has found incredibly valuable is the space Red Cape has allowed her to have conversations to process and adapt and discover ways that work best for her. “The coaching and advising space has been really critical. You’re just all up in your head when you’re working alone, so I haven’t been alone so much,” Page explains.

Developing a new website that embodies her work was eye-opening for Page because it caused her to reflect on her work and get clarity on exactly what she wanted to do and what she no longer wanted to do. She also wanted her website to do more than just be about her services. “It’s sharing information and resources in a way that allows people to engage with that information, and it isn’t about paying me to do something for them. Red Cape made it possible for my website to really be a resource for people so they gain something from going there.”

Social media support was the fourth area Red Cape initiated for Page so she could grow her business beyond the word-of-mouth Baltimore clients she worked with.

How did this solution impact Page’s business?

The team support from Red Cape has increased her capacity and made Page’s business more sustainable and scalable. “The systems in place and having support all contributed to me being able to do another 10 years without burning out.” She is now in a place where she can go after work now that she couldn’t before the systems were in place, and in the 13 months Page has worked with Red Cape, she has doubled her business intake.

Through social media, Page has also expanded her outreach beyond Baltimore, and since launching her profile in January of 2024, she has gained national and international clients. “The exposure has really been a game-changer,” Page explains, “and it just keeps coming.”

What was the timeline?

From initial contact through her financial systems, marketing infrastructure, website, and continued support, Page has been working with Red Cape for 14 months and has no plans to stop.

The Road Ahead

Were there any unexpected/surprising benefits that Page was also able to receive with Red Cape?

“All of them were unexpected. I didn’t really know; I couldn’t conceptualize. Everything has been beyond what I could have imagined,” Page exclaims. Key benefits Page attributes to Red Cape are the sustainability of her business, financial growth, and the ability to do more work. “For me, that doesn’t necessarily equal more money, but it equals more impact. It’s wonderful to focus on doing the things that I really like doing and not having to do work I really don’t want to.”

Has Page signed on for additional services than what she initially engaged Red Cape for?

Initially, Page signed on for the finance and systems help, but that evolved into her website and social media. Page has now signed on for ongoing support with projects, including a blog and a webinar she has always dreamed of doing.

What benefits does Page anticipate long-term with Red Cape?

“It’s been life-changing. I feel like I have choices now. My business is like my child, and now I can do this until I don’t want to work anymore. Even if I closed my doors today, I would never regret any work with Red Cape because it has allowed me to do things I have always wanted to do. Their support helped make all of this stuff happen.  I know it sounds corny, but you’re making dreams come true!”
